Pantone Matching System (PMS)
In order to maintain accurate color when designing for print, it is essential that you own a set of Pantone Color Swatch Books. When viewing PDF Proofs on a computer monitor, keep in mind that it is almost impossible to view colors accurately (especially on a PC) due to user specific monitor settings, ambient light, and monitor manufacturer variations. In some cases colors appear completely different from what the final printed color will actually be. Therefore, for truly accurate color proofing, we recommend getting a Matchprint or high quality digital output from a service bureau. It is also important to replace your Pantone books every couple of years depending on where they are stored and how much they are handled. Click here to visit the Pantone website.
